Cintas: FTC Threat on UniFirst Bid Is Real, but Market Reaction Looks Larger Than Damage to Cintas

On Oct. 27, Federal Trade Commission staff signaled they will recommend suing to stop Cintas' $5.5 billion acquisition of UniFirst over market-share concerns. However, the commission has not voted, and the FTC itself said it has not made a final decision. Cintas' shares fell nearly 5% on the news.
