Stock Analyst Note

Qiagen has agreed to an acquisition by private equity firm EQT AB for it to acquire 100% of the company’s shares. The deal is subject to shareholder approval, but both the management and supervisory boards have unanimously recommended acceptance of the all-cash offer price of EUR 46.50 per share.
Stock Analyst Note

Life science stocks have been under pressure since late 2022, but with profits expected to rebound in the high single digits in 2026 on average and potentially accelerate even further in 2027-30 due to upcoming catalysts, we see growing momentum in the industry’s profit growth trajectory.
Stock Analyst Note

We are transferring the coverage of Qiagen to a new analyst. Qiagen is a well-established supplier of sample preparation technology and kits and is also active in niche end markets like digital PCR and genomics. It is also involved in syndromic molecular diagnostics.
Stock Analyst Note

Qiagen reported first-quarter 2025 results ahead of company-compiled consensus, with revenue up 7% in constant currency and a 410-basis-point improvement in adjusted operating margin to 29.8%. Shares are trading 1% higher intraday.
Stock Analyst Note

Qiagen reported preliminary first-quarter results, with sales and adjusted earnings per share above its previously communicated outlook. Net sales increased 7% during the first quarter, 4% above the guidance, while adjusted EPS of $0.55 came in comfortably above the firm's target of $0.50.
Stock Analyst Note

No-moat Qiagen reported solid fourth-quarter 2024 results, in line with company-compiled consensus. For the full year, Qiagen delivered net sales of $1.98 billion, aligning with our model and remaining largely flat compared with 2023 figures. Bottom-line figures for the year showed a decline due to one-off costs associated with the exit from the NeuMoDX PCR testing platform. However, adjusted EPS grew 6% year over year, reaching $2.20 in constant currencies, in line with recent guidance. We maintain our fair value estimate of $53.48 per share and view the stock as slightly undervalued at current levels.
Stock Analyst Note

Qiagen's strong third-quarter results exceeded expectations, and we've mildly raised our 2024 assumptions, although not enough to change our fair value estimate, which is based on much longer-term expectations. Also, while we still give Qiagen a no-moat rating, we recognize that operations have improved substantially in recent years even beyond the pandemic, and we expect Qiagen to remain economically profitable for the foreseeable future.
