Apple Rolls Out New MacBook Pro, iMac Computers
By Kelly Cloonan
Apple unveiled new versions of its MacBook Pro and iMac computers, the latest in a series of recent product updates from the technology giant.
The new devices, announced Tuesday, come with the company's M6 chip that's designed for faster artificial-intelligence and graphics performance. The prior MacBook model had an M5 chip, while the previous iMac generation had an M4.
Both devices are also equipped with higher Wi-Fi and Bluetooth standards for improved connectivity. The new MacBook Pro, which starts at $1,999 in the U.S., also comes with more battery life. The new iMac begins at $1,499.
Pre-orders for the devices start Wednesday, with availability beginning Nov. 6, Apple said.
The devices mark the latest in a string of product updates from Apple. The company on Monday unveiled a new iPad mini with a thinner, lighter design. It also recently started selling a new foldable iPhone, an almost tablet-like device called the iPhone Duo. The device has garnered mixed reviews but demand for it has significantly outpaced current supply.
