GM to Prepare Lansing Delta Township Site for Future Hybrid Production

By Josh Beckerman

General Motors will prepare its Lansing Delta Township site for future hybrid electric-vehicle production, part of a broader commitment to invest more than $2 billion in the Lansing, Mich., region over several years.

That amount includes the previously announced $1.25 billion for Lansing Grand River Assembly.

Lansing Delta Township currently builds the Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Traverse and GMC Acadia.

GM and the Energy Department are restructuring a previously awarded domestic manufacturing conversion grant, with those funds going to Lansing Delta Township for future hybrid production.

In July 2024, GM received a $500 million grant intended to help prepare Lansing Grand River for electrification. The company posted a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act notice in August about planned layoffs at Lansing Grand River.

The company said it will provide details about nameplates and timing closer to launch.

Earlier Tuesday, GM said it will transfer its stock listing to Nasdaq from the New York Stock Exchange next month.
