Endesa Backs Guidance After Earnings Jumps

By Adam Whittaker

Endesa backed its full-year guidance after earnings for the first nine months rose and investments in grids jumped.

The Spanish utility said net profit for the period rose 15% to 1.96 billion euros, equivalent to $2.18 billion. Ordinary net profit--a company preferred metric--rose 22% to 2.125 billion euros.

Investments in its grids business grew 42% in anticipation of rising electricity demand. The contribution from its regulated business grew to nearly 50% of earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization. This greater weight improves visibility and predictability of earnings, Endesa said.

Endesa confirmed its forecast of exceeding 2.40 billion euros in ordinary net profit in 2026.
