About Quantitative Ratings
Morningstar Quantitative Ratings for Stocks are generated using an algorithm that compares companies that are not under analyst coverage to peer companies that do receive analyst-driven ratings. Companies with quantitative ratings are not formally covered by a Morningstar analyst, but are statistically matched to analyst-rated companies, allowing our models to calculate a quantitative moat, fair value, and uncertainty rating.

Company Profile
Founded in 1980, Alimentation Couche-Tard is the world’s second-largest global convenience and fuel retailer, operating more than 17,200 stores across 27 countries, primarily under the Circle K and Couche-Tard banners. The firm generated over $76 billion in fiscal 2026 revenue across three geographic segments: the United States (its largest market, with over 7,300 stores), Europe and other international regions, and Canada. Fuel sales account for the bulk of revenue (nearly 74%), with higher-margin merchandise and food offerings accounting for the remainder (roughly 25% of sales). In July 2026, the firm announced an $8.6 billion acquisition of Poland’s Zabka Group, which is slated to add over 13,000 European stores upon the deal’s close.
