BlackRock Strategic Global Bond will become BlackRock Global Total Return in December 2026, but the strategy’s investment approach will remain unchanged. The firm believes that the new name better reflects its existing flexible approach across global fixed-income and currency markets while addressing requirements under the US Securities and Exchange Commission’s amended Names Rule. The name change removes a formal requirement to invest at least 80% of assets in bonds and related derivatives, allowing the management team more flexibility in the use of foreign-currency derivatives. As these derivatives were already used extensively as part of the investment process, investors should not expect to see a change in how the portfolio will be managed. The strategy’s objective, investable universe, and investment process remain intact.
